Support Indigenous communities as a Recovery Home Support Worker with Seabird Island. This role focuses on crisis intervention, encouraging life skills, and aiding with daily living.
You will provide culturally informed support to clients dealing with mental illness and addiction. As you work closely with the Recovery Home Supervisor, your duties will include crisis support, connecting clients with community resources, and promoting engagement in recreational activities. Your contributions are vital in creating a safe and respectful setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist clients with crisis intervention as needed
• Uphold ethical standards and professional conduct
• Regularly maintain updated client records
• Plan and engage clients in community activities
• Support with grocery shopping and household duties
Requirements:
• 2+ years of relevant experience in Indigenous settings
• Relevant qualifications in social services or health care aid
• Food Safe Level 1 and First Aid certifications required
• Driver’s license and access to safe transportation
• Must be flexible for evening and weekend work
