Job Summary
The Specialist is accountable to provide subject matter expertise and administration of a specialized function. As a member of SaskPower’s management team, this position is responsible to act as a central point of contact in the management and administration of strategic and operational functions, providing expert advice and direction that aligns with departmental and corporate goals and objectives.
This position will function as a senior ServiceNow Administrator and Developer responsible for enhancing SaskPower’s ServiceNow environment, including the implementation of new modules such as Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM), system integrations, and workflow development to support continuous improvement and automation.
Key Accountabilities:
Administer, configure, enhance and support SaskPower’s ServiceNow environment to ensure the platform remains reliable, secure, scalable and aligned with business and technology objectives
Lead the design, development, testing and implementation of ServiceNow solutions, including workflows, business rules, forms, reports, dashboards, catalog items, integrations and automation capabilities
Implement and mature ServiceNow modules such as Hardware Asset Management (HAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), IT Service Management (ITSM)
and other platform capabilities that support organizational priorities
Work with business units, IT teams, vendors and stakeholders to gather requirements, assess operational needs, recommend solutions and translate business requirements into sustainable ServiceNow functionality
Develop and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise systems to improve data quality, process efficiency, reporting, asset visibility and end-to-end service delivery
Identify, evaluate and implement process improvements, automation opportunities and platform enhancements that improve service management practices and operational efficiency across SaskPower
Maintain platform governance, standards, documentation, release practices, testing processes and change controls to ensure ServiceNow development and administration activities follow corporate and industry best practices
Provide subject matter expertise, technical guidance, troubleshooting support and knowledge transfer to internal teams, project teams and management as required
Monitor ServiceNow platform performance, upcoming releases, recent features and industry developments, and recommend opportunities to leverage platform capabilities within SaskPower’s operational environment
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or other related equivalent AND/OR;
ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Language) Expert or Master Certification(s)
would be considered an asset AND/OR;
Five (5) years of related experience in IT Service Management (ITSM), with experience administering and developing ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy), implementing integrations and solutions, and supporting or leading large scale Service Management initiatives.
Team player with the ability to build and maintain strategic relationships both internal and external to SaskPower
Results oriented thinker, with the ability to manage and provide advice regarding complex and confidential issues with sensitivity and professionalism
Excellent analytical, research and problem solving skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work and manage in a changing environment
Excellent facilitation, project management and decision making skills
Ability to foster a culture focused on safety, innovation and teamwork
Demonstrated skill in SaskPower’s competencies
Must have a continuing record of professional development
A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered
