Paqtnkek Mi’kmaw Nation is hiring a Community Band Designate to act on behalf of Chief and Council in child welfare and community support. This role focuses on strong advocacy, interpersonal skills, and a working knowledge of legislation affecting Mi’kmaw children and families. You'll collaborate with various entities and community members to ensure rights and cultural values are respected.

Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the primary liaison with child welfare agencies
• Advocate for families in child welfare matters
• Attend court proceedings and case conferences




• Assist families in understanding rights and resources
• Collaborate with community partners and legal counsel

Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in a related field is preferred
• Strong advocacy and mediation skills are essential
• Experience with Indigenous communities is valuable
• Valid driver’s license and transportation are required
• Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality
