What Is The Chance? The Project Manager is responsible for the overall execution of one or more projects in a safe and profitable manner, ensuring consistency with the company strategy and commitment to goals.
The role will oversee projects up to $10M+ in the Calgary and surrounding areas and will be based out of our Quarry Park office in Calgary, Alberta. Regular travel to site on a daily basis is required.
What You’ll Do Here: Lead by example, ensuring adherence to Aecon’s Environmental, Health, and Safety Management System.
Develop, submit, and assess Health and Safety Plans, Environmental Construction Operating Plans, Quality Management Plans and Traffic Accommodation Strategies.
Understand and interpret project estimates.
Accurately interpret and comprehend contract drawings and specifications.
Prepare work schedules and coordinate project staff.
Provide onsite management of crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and all other resources to complete the job.
Inspect work in progress to ensure workmanship conforms to specifications and construction schedules.
Ensure that contracts are kept current and updated with change orders on a regular basis.
Track and understand daily, weekly, and monthly pay quantities and cost reports.
Chair meetings and lead discussions with defined outcomes.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
What You Bring to the Team: Civil Engineering Degree or Diploma, or equivalent training and experience.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Project Manager, or a combination of civil construction experience as a Project Coordinator or Project Engineer.
Knowledge of City of Calgary and surrounding area projects and specifications.
Experience with asphalt paving, concrete, earthworks, and underground construction.
Capability to read and understand construction drawings and documents.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Self-motivated with good organizational skills.
Adaptable to a flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and overtime as required.
Ability to work collaboratively with others, effectively prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
Compliance with the company’s drug & alcohol program, including testing requirements.
Valid driver’s licence with a clean abstract.
