Job Description
Summary:

Wolverine Contracting & Engineering is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead field execution on industrial construction and maintenance projects throughout the Sarnia-Lambton region.

This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for coordinating field personnel, subcontractors, equipment, and resources while ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to Wolverine’s quality standards. The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, Operations leadership, clients, and field teams to drive successful project outcomes across multiple industrial sectors.

Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day field execution of industrial construction and maintenance projects.

Coordinate Wolverine personnel, subcontractors, equipment, and project resources.

Develop and execute daily, weekly, and look-ahead work plans.

Ensure crews are prepared with materials, drawings, permits, equipment, and access requirements.

Understand project scope, schedule, priorities, and deliverables.

Participate in project planning, outage planning, schedule reviews, and execution strategy discussions.

Maintain strong communication with Project Managers, Operations leadership, and client representatives.

Identify and communicate scope changes, schedule impacts, execution risks, and project opportunities.

Maintain accurate daily reports, manpower records, and field documentation.

Ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Wolverine quality standards.

Lead safety meetings, field audits, permit reviews, and incident investigations as required.

Mentor foremen and field leaders while building strong project teams.

Assist with manpower planning, productivity tracking, and resource coordination.





Manage multiple concurrent projects, maintenance scopes, and outage activities as required.

Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.

Strong planning, scheduling, and organizational skills.

Ability to identify and resolve issues proactively.

Strong understanding of industrial construction and maintenance execution.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Strong documentation and reporting capabilities.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Familiarity with construction management software and project execution tools is considered an asset.

Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of industrial construction, maintenance, or field leadership experience.

Strong background in petrochemical, refining, power generation, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments.

Previous unionized field experience is highly preferred.

Pipefitter, Boilermaker, or similar industrial trade background considered a strong asset.

Proven ability to lead crews, coordinate field work, and manage subcontractors.

Strong understanding of safe work execution, planning, scheduling, productivity, and industrial field operations.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, project teams, and field personnel.

Coachable, accountable, and committed to continuous improvement.

Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and desire to grow into increasing levels of responsibility.

Compensation

Starting salary of $150,000+ annually.

Additional earnings available through overtime.
