Become a Bioassay Technician with the University of Calgary's Alberta Centre for Toxicology. This full-time, fixed-term role focuses on cell culture maintenance and cytotoxicity assays.
The Bioassay Technician will report directly to the Bioassay Section Head and assist with cell culture, microscopy, and assay performance. Key responsibilities include conducting protein phosphatase inhibition assays and ensuring quality control standards are met. You will contribute to innovative research in a dynamic lab setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain various types of cell cultures
• Conduct cytotoxicity assays using RTCA technology
• Perform endpoint assays for assay confirmation
• Analyze data and prepare reports for management
• Assist in research summaries and literature reviews
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science in Biology or related field
• Experience in Cell Biology or Microbiology preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques required
• Robust organizational skills and attention to detail
