We are currently seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) with expertise in IV therapy and total parenteral nutrition (TPN) administration to join our dynamic community care team. Travel to Sunpeaks required. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering TPN/IV hydration according to the TPN program guidelines and physician orders, with training provided by the TPN team.

Key Responsibilities

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with healthcare teams.

Educate patients and their families on health management and disease prevention strategies.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.

Adhere to all regulatory standards, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with healthcare guidelines.

Client‑Specific Skills and Abilities

Administer TPN/IV hydration following the TPN program guidelines and orders.

Provide IV hydration as needed based on blood work or client condition, utilizing an additional CADD pump when required.

Perform weekly changes of SC butterfly for hydromorphone infusions and facilitate Fentanyl patch changes as required.





Conduct central line flushes and maintenance, including weekly dressing changes.

Monitor patient weight and vital signs and ensure accurate documentation, reporting all findings to the TPN program.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or a degree in Psychiatric Nursing (RPN)

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) or (RPN) license in British Columbia, Canada.

First Aid and CPR certification.

Experience with TPN is an asset; however, training will be provided.

Certification in IV therapy is preferred.

Proficiency in using infusion pumps and monitoring equipment.

Robust attention to detail and adherence to complex protocols.

Ability to perform general RN duties.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.

The position consists of 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening Monday to Friday, with some weekends as needed.

A local from Sun Peaks would be preferred.

Travel kilometres will be paid from Kamloops.
