Become a Peer Outreach Worker with Main Street Project, providing essential support to individuals in Winnipeg facing homelessness. Leverage your lived experiences to foster community connections and drive meaningful change.
This part-time role focuses on direct outreach, relationship-building, and care plan development. Operating mainly in the evenings, you will ensure clients' immediate needs are met and support their journey toward stability. Your unique insights into mental health and substance use will be invaluable in creating a safe, inclusive workplace for all.
Key Responsibilities:
• Meet clients' needs with food, shelter, and hygiene supplies
• Assess behavior and overall well-being for safety
• Provide updates and insights to the outreach team
• Conduct assessments and facilitate access to services
• Operate the outreach van and monitor client safety
Requirements:
• Understanding of issues affecting low-income populations
• Satisfaction with Criminal Record and Abuse Registry checks
• Class 5 Driver's License and basic computer skills
• Experience with statistics and reporting is preferred
• Ability to work with diverse communities
