Are you a dedicated and experienced therapist with advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) looking for an opportunity to thrive in a collaborative and trauma-informed practice? Healing Roots Therapy is seeking a compassionate and skilled professional to join our team in Mississauga, Ontario. In this role, you will provide evidence-based psychotherapy, including EMDR, to adolescents and adults experiencing trauma and other mental health concerns, while working within a supportive and collaborative clinical environment.

What We're Looking For
At Healing Roots Therapy, we are intentional in the way we support our clients. We are looking for a clinician who values depth, consistency, and meaningful therapeutic work , and who takes pride in building strong, ongoing relationships with the individuals and families they support.
You bring a structured and thoughtful approach to your work, recognizing that regular attendance and continuity are essential to effective therapy . You actively support clients in maintaining engagement in the process, understanding that this consistency allows for deeper exploration and more meaningful, lasting outcomes. but on providing quality care that fosters growth over time .
You are both clinically grounded and professionally accountable , able to balance therapeutic presence with the organizational and documentation standards required for high-quality care. You take initiative when needed, manage your caseload responsibly, and approach both clinical and administrative responsibilities with consistency, attention to detail, and professionalism.
You value collaboration, ongoing growth, and ethical practice , and engage in supervision and team connection as part of your development as a clinician. Most importantly, you approach your work with empathy, respect, inclusivity, and a genuine commitment to supporting clients in a meaningful and impactful way .
Key Responsibilities
Maintain a caseload of 15 clients per week , providing in-person therapy services (individuals ages 14 and up)
Conduct initial intake sessions with new clients to assess needs and establish treatment direction
Assess client readiness for EMDR and implement stabilization and resourcing strategies when indicated.
Complete complimentary 20-minute phone consultations to assess fit and support appropriate client matching
Develop and deliver personalized, evidence-informed treatment plans based on client goals and clinical formulation
Ensure accurate, thorough, and timely documentation , including session notes, reports, correspondence with consented third parties, legal documentation, and physician letters, in alignment with professional and regulatory standards
Maintain up-to-date client records, ensuring continuity and quality of care
Coordinate and manage client-specific service needs, including referrals and collaborative care where appropriate
Provide individual psychotherapy to adolescents and adults using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and other evidence-based, trauma-informed interventions as clinically appropriate.
Participate in case consultation, clinical meetings, and ongoing professional development.
Practice in accordance with the ethical and professional standards of your regulatory college and maintain client confidentiality.
Manage an active caseload while providing high-quality, client-centred care.
Contribute to a collaborative, respectful, and supportive team culture.
Participate in clinical supervision (external supervision or access our internal group supervision) to support ethical practice, qualified growth, and quality client care
Requirements
Masters in Counselling/psychotherapy or related field.
Registered with the CRPO or CPBAO
EMDR Certification (EMDRIA or equivalent) considered a strong asset.
At least 1 year (post graduation) of experience practicing the act of psychotherapy.
Experience treating single-incident and/or complex trauma using the standard EMDR protocol.
Registration in good standing with the appropriate regulatory college (e.g., CRPO, CPO).
Experience providing EMDR therapy to individuals experiencing trauma, PTSD, complex trauma, anxiety, attachment-related concerns, grief, and other mental health challenges.
Strong understanding of trauma-informed, attachment-based, and client-centred approaches to psychotherapy.
Ability to integrate EMDR with other therapeutic modalities based on client needs.
Experience working with diverse populations and demonstrating cultural humility in clinical practice.
Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills.
Availability & Work Structure
This role requires availability 1 evening (2pm-8:30pm), 1 weekend day Sunday or Saturday (9am-4pm) and 1 weekday morning (9am-2pm) a week during to support client accessibility and continuity of care
This is a fully in-person position , allowing for deeper connection and engagement with clients
Our in-person model reflects our commitment to providing high-quality, relational, and consistent care within the clinic environment

Fully electronic charting, scheduling, payments, and billing (from 9am-8:30pm)

Access to in-house free Group supervision twice a month
