The Loss Prevention Specialist (LPS) is a key hourly associate position within Amazon Operations. The LPS leads the effort to efficiently and effectively oversee security services and asset (lives, buildings, equipment, inventory, data, & intellectual property) protection in a designated building. The LPS reports to the Loss Prevention responsible for their facility, and aids them in supporting the Operational team, and the cross functional teams throughout the organization. The position is site based.
Key job responsibilities
Lead, conduct, and deliver results regarding investigations of Theft, Fraud, and Workplace Violence/Critical Incidents
Prepare prompt and complete reports relative to Workplace Violence, Theft, Fraud, Critical Incidents, and Process Improvement
Deliver results through policy Guidance, Education, and Mitigation strategies to help meet business demands
Serve as department’s liaison and security/crisis management subject matter expert for site leadership keeping them informed on key issues, strategies and the department’s performance
Analyze data, conducts audits and identify trends to create actionable plans to mitigate risk
Maintain confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personnel issues in the work place
Effectively partner with internal customers in evaluating current and future security services, processes and initiatives
Develop strategies for alarm reduction and conduct system diagnostic for problematic devices by engaging and resolving issues with internal and external partners
Develop projects while continuously improving physical security, processes, standards, training, and policies for future growth
Ensure internal controls per Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements related to data center access controls, inventory control and record keeping
Promote and execute security best practices
Audit physical security infrastructure (i.e. intrusion detection, access control, cameras) and ensuring functionally of all systems
Work weekends and/or overnight shifts as necessary
Work in an industrial environment that requires walking up to 5 miles a day and ability to lift up to 20 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation
A day in the life
As a SLP Specialist, you will join a team of S&LP; professionals providing security as a service to business customers across multiple business units within a dedicated geographical area. You perform regular physical security audits and investigate policy violations, security-related incidents, and loss events.
During your investigations, you will collect information by monitoring systems and tools, analyzing data reports, and conducting interviews. Your findings contribute to identifying vulnerabilities in various processes to identify and drive mitigating measures and look to identify trends.
You play a key role in maintaining the physical integrity of our sites by auditing and monitoring the health status of our systems and, jointly with subject matter experts and external suppliers,
maintain their functionality. Furthermore, you identify and act upon initiatives improving our physical security infrastructure and contribute directly to the budgetary planning for our external suppliers. You interact on a daily basis with our external security service providers to ensure delivery of high-quality security services and a smooth customer experience.
You will be working on multiple high-impact initiatives/projects by collaborating with stakeholders across organizational levels to deliver measurable outcomes through effective project management.
Finally, you deliver loss prevention-related education and awareness programs to other teams across all management levels and manage the implementation of our S&LP; plan.

Worldwide Operations Security (WWOS) is the global organization that supports field Loss Prevention and is designed to support Amazon’s Worldwide Operations, as well as affiliate and retail businesses, by creating and maintaining a work workplace that is both prepared and secure through global security centers of excellence staffed by subject matter experts in people and asset protection.

Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience with MS Office Professional Suite, including Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data
Experience in identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans
2+ years of Amazon (Blue Badge/FTE) experience, or 1+ year in security service, loss prevention, asset protection, investigations, law enforcement, or operations, or Loss Prevention Qualified Career Choice Graduate
Preferred Qualifications
Experience making and influencing risk-guided decisions by leveraging data and metrics
Experience collaborating and influencing multiple teams across multiple organizations
Experience with physical security control and surveillance systems
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced and multi-tasking environment
1+ year of leadership or management and/or supply chain experience
Investigative interviewing experience; Wicklander and Zulawski, Loss Prevention Qualified, Certified Protection Professional, Loss Prevention Certified, Certified Forensic Interviewer, Certified Threat Assessment Certification or other relevant certifications

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
