We are building a central identity, access, and financial coordination layer for our entire ecosystem.
This isn’t just a website; it is the control center that sits above our apps, vendors, and payment processors. It answers the critical questions: “Who is this user, what are they allowed to do, and how does money and data flow across the platform?”
Project Overview
Our WooCommerce-based site requires specific customizations for the checkout process.
These include:
Custom workflows for different product states:
Deposits
Pre-orders
Buy Now
and a few more states... Like
Order management via QR code
Customers should log in and check order statuses using a QR code linked to their order.
During checkout, the workflow should check if the provided email is associated with an existing account before submitting an order.
Implement dynamic checkout workflows based on product state.
Enable customer account lookup during the checkout process.
Build an order status system accessible via a QR code.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
Key Responsibilities
Identity Architecture: Design and maintain a robust SSO and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) system for Masqueraders, Vendors, and Admin roles.
Financial Identity Mapping: Build the logic that tracks financial responsibility—mapping orders to vendors and defining payout rules (splits, fees, deposits) without the platform acting as a bank.
Plugin Engineering: Develop high-performance, custom WordPress plugins using clean, Object-Oriented PHP.
API & Integration: Build and secure REST API endpoints to facilitate event-based logic (e.g., vendor.approved , order.settled )
across the ecosystem.
Compliance & Risk: Implement audit trails and access revocation systems to ensure legal separation between the platform and its vendors.
Technical Requirements
Deep WordPress Internals: Mastery of hooks, filters, and the database schema. You should know how to extend WordPress far beyond its out-of-the-box capabilities.
Advanced PHP: Strong experience in OOP (Object-Oriented Programming) and clean code principles.
WooCommerce Mastery: Experience handling complex metadata, custom order flows, and vendor integrations.
Systems Thinking: Ability to manage data synchronization across a multi-tenant or SaaS-style environment.
Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years in professional web development with a focus on backend architecture.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent hands-on experience in high-stakes production environments.
Mindset: You prioritize security, scalability, and “separation of concerns” over UI polish.
Local: Must be able to work on‑site at our Toronto office.
