Make a difference as an Educational Assistant within the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. This full-time role supports students with exceptional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental disabilities.
The Educational Assistant works under the Principal's direction, sharing responsibilities with the school team. You'll support students in academic settings, implement special programs, and assist with physiotherapy exercises. Flexibility is key as assignments may include various duties such as dealing with confidential information and outdoor supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental disabilities
• Implement special programs and academic support
• Assist with physiotherapy exercises and stretches
• Provide supervision during outdoor yard duties
• Modify programs for students with learning disabilities
Requirements:
• Community college diploma in Developmental Services Worker or Child and Youth Care
• 1-2 years of experience with special needs children
• Valid First Aid and CPR Level C certification
• Training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or similar
• Dependable with solid problem-solving skills
