Become a Swim Coach with the Canucks Autism Network in Victoria. Lead skill development and implement curricula in a positive environment while working with participants on the autism spectrum.
This role offers a chance to make a difference in the lives of Autistic individuals through sport and recreation. Candidates should have experience in coaching and creating engaging lesson plans. You will collaborate with onsite supervisors while ensuring a supportive atmosphere for participants, support workers, and volunteers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create and deliver structured lesson plans matching participant needs
• Utilize autism-informed coaching methods during activities
• Maintain a positive learning setting throughout sessions
• Assess participant swimming skills with accurate reporting
• Support the guidance and mentorship of Support Workers and Volunteers
Requirements:
• Minimum 1 year coaching children/youth sports experience
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C certifications
• Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Certification required
• Comfortable at all pool depths
• Age 16 or older with clear criminal record check
