About the Role:
The Test & Tune Technician plays a key role in supporting Nanowave’s RF and electronics manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for hands‑on testing, tuning, troubleshooting, and documentation of RF and DC circuits, power amplifiers, and electronic subsystems. The role requires strong technical fundamentals, precision workmanship under a microscope, and the ability to interpret schematics and diagnose issues down to the component level.
Working within a fast‑paced engineering and production environment, the technician will perform detailed test procedures, collect and log data accurately, support subsystem integration, and maintain high standards of quality and documentation. This role is ideal for individuals with solid electronics knowledge, practical lab experience, and a commitment to meticulous, reliable work.
Responsibilities:
Test & Tuning of RF and DC circuits
Troubleshooting of DC circuits down to component level
Collect and log data accurately from test processes
Perform soldering, wire bonding, and ribbon bonding under a microscope
Assist in the testing and troubleshooting of RF power amplifiers, analog, and digital circuit boards (including FPGAs, timing circuits, and converters)
Work on the integration of RF transmitter/receiver subsystems (PAs, LNAs, T/R switches, and power supplies)
Maintain and organize test documentation to meet internal quality standards
Education:
Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technician or Higher
Skills/Requirements:
Strong understanding of basic circuit elements and electronic components, including:
Resistors, capacitors, inductors
Transistor types (NPN, PNP, FET) and biasing
Operational amplifier configurations
Basic digital logic (AND, OR, XOR)
AC/DC and DC/DC converters
Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics
Detail-oriented with solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Comfortable working both independently and in a team
Able to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated documentation and data entry skills to maintain test records
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada on an ongoing basis without employer sponsorship.
Experience working within the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) workplace is considered an asset.
Must be able to obtain CGP registration.
Preferred Skills:
Hands‑on experience using lab equipment such as: Multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers
Understanding of S-parameter measurements
Experience working with surface-mount and chip‑and‑wire components under a microscope
Cleanroom experience and/or certification for working with SMT components is an asset
Experience:
1. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in electronics testing and troubleshooting
2. Prior work in an electronics lab or cleanroom environment is preferred
