Compensation: Hourly Rate based on experience and abilities with incentives
About the Position We are looking for an experienced and motivated Working Project Lead Hand to join our team. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can confidently lead a crew while working alongside them in the field.
The successful candidate will help coordinate day-to-day project activities, ensure work is completed safely and efficiently, and maintain a high standard of quality. This position is ideal for someone with strong construction experience who is ready to take on additional responsibility and lead by example. Description of daily work requirements to vary between foundation work, framing, exterior cladding, assisting other trades (plumbing, electrical, etc) as well as finishing work depending on phase of construction of projects.
Key Responsibilities Lead and work alongside a crew on various construction and project activities
Coordinate daily tasks and help keep projects on schedule
Operate equipment and perform hands-on construction duties as required
Read and understand project plans, drawings, and specifications
Communicate effectively with Project Managers, supervisors, operators, and crew members
Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards
Conduct daily job-site inspections and identify potential hazards
Assist with planning manpower, materials, equipment, and job-site requirements
Monitor the quality and progress of work
Troubleshoot issues and make practical decisions in the field
Provide direction and support to crew members
Complete daily paperwork, timesheets,
and other project documentation as required
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site
Ensure company equipment, tools, and vehicles are properly maintained and used safely
Qualifications & Experience Carpentry certification or applicable experience preferred
Previous experience in construction - residential or commercial
Previous crew leadership experience is an asset
Robust understanding of practical construction procedure
Ability to operate construction equipment is an asset
Valid driver's licence
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to read plans and follow project specifications
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field
Physically capable of performing hands-on construction work
Reliable, punctual, and safety-minded
Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Strong work ethic and positive attitude
