Reports to: Centre Director, ILSC Junior Camp at UBC.
Location: Vancouver, British Columbia.
Contract Duration: June 28 to August 9, 2026 (full-u2010time employment).
Program Duration: 4-6 weeks – June 28 to August 9, 2026.
Description Activity leaders inject life into the activities program of an ILSC Junior Camp, providing an experience that is fun, engaging and culturally enriching for students. They supervise the students outside the classroom, overseeing their welfare, safety and discipline at all times.
Work Schedule and Timeline – On-u2010Site Activity Leader Full-u2010time hours on-u2010site at UBC from June 28 to August 9, 2026.
Pre-u2010program staff training at UBC from June 25 to June 26, 2026 at the ILSC Vancouver Campus.
Weekly work schedule: six consecutive days on, one full day off.
Accommodation and meals included during the Junior Camp operation.
Compensation: $20.00 per hour.
Work Schedule and Timeline – Off-u2010Site Activity Leader Full-u2010time hours on-u2010site at UBC from June 29 to August 8, 2026.
Pre-u2010program staff training at UBC from June 25 to June 26, 2026 at the ILSC Vancouver Campus.
Weekly routine: greet students on arrival and accompany them back to UBC residence (typically on Sundays) and to the airport on departure day (typically on Sundays).
Supervise students on weekday off-u2010site activities on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Supervise full-u2010day weekend activities from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM (may vary).
Compensation: $20.00 per hour.
Job Duties – On-u2010Site Activity Leader Greet students at the airport upon arrival and accompany them to UBC residence on a rotational basis.
Accompany students from UBC residence to the airport for departure on a rotational basis.
Welcome students staying in residence on the first Sunday,
assist with orientation, check them into rooms, and lead initial “getting to know you” activities as directed by the Activity Coordinator.
Lead art, dance, drama, or sports activities, encouraging student participation with enthusiasm and leading by example.
Supervise bedtime and wake‑up routines, morning and afternoon breaks, evening mealtimes on a rotational basis.
Ensure the health, safety, welfare and discipline of students by monitoring incidents of discrimination, bullying or conflict and alerting the Junior Camp management staff.
Monitor whereabouts of students by taking attendance at set meeting times, ensuring curfews are kept and bed‑times respected.
Complete student attendance reports as required and advise the Junior Camp management team of any absences, lateness or behavioral issues.
Attend daily staff meetings to review the day’s activities and plan for the following day.
Assist the Activity Coordinator and, on occasion, agents and accreditation inspectors, in the observation and evaluation of activities.
Supervise the departure of students on their departure day, checking beds and facilities, collecting keys as appropriate, and escorting students and luggage to pick‑up points at agreed times.
Assist with arrivals and departures of students, checking bedrooms and facilities, escorting students on airport transfers as required.
Track and maintain receipts.
Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes Experience working with teenagers in a camp or residential environment.
Background in sports, art, drama, dance, or social media.
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restrictions in childcare, primary/secondary school teaching, or health service field occupations.
Desirable Qualifications CPR / First Aid / Lifeguard certification.
Bilingualism: English.
Additional Requirements of the Job Criminal Record Police Check.
