FAMILY VIOLENCE OUTREACH WORKER
Job purpose: The Community Outreach (Off-Reserve) worker is responsible for providing a broad range of support, education, and crisis intervention services to individuals affected by (or likely to be affected by) interpersonal violence with the goal of guiding clients to a path of self-sufficiency that includes transfer of knowledge, strength, healthy habits, tools for change, and the confidence to make informed choices.

Competent in critical problem-solving and analytical decision making
Robust communication, conflict resolution, and relationship management skills
Capable of working independently and as part of a team
Sound ethical judgment and ability to maintain skilled boundaries
Ability to maintain confidentiality in compliance with all federal and provincial requirements
Proficiency in compiling data and developing statistical reports
Comfortable with public speaking and giving presentations
Strong time and task management skills
Awareness of, and sensitivity to,
the unique circumstances and needs of the community
Demonstrated experience working with disadvantaged adults who are experiencing homelessness, substance use, mental health, and/or barriers to independence
Job Assets and Specific Requirements:
Completed post-secondary education, preferably in Social Work, Human Justice, or another relevant human services field.
At least 2 years’ experience in a human services field
Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license
Ability to pass a Vulnerable Sector Check
Ability to speak Cree and/or Dene
Knowledgeable on resources within the community & methods of access
Completed relevant training such as Safe Talk, ASIST, Mental Health First Aid, Sexual Assault First Responder, Motivational Interviewing, etc.
