Northland Fleet Services, a member of LaPrairie Group of Companies, provides full turnkey fleet management services, for light-duty vehicles and heavy-duty equipment, to customers throughout northern British Columbia.
Northland Fleet Services, located in Grande Prairie, AB, is looking for a Service Writer.
Responsibilities: Create and manage work orders and purchase orders for maintenance and repairs on customer and internal units.
Coordinate with technicians to prioritize tasks based on operational needs and unit availability.
Track and document service history, parts usage, and labor hours for each unit.
Communicate and manage with customers regarding repair process, unit status, estimated completion times, and service impacts.
Monitor parts inventory and initiate/manage orders as needed to support scheduled work.
Maintain organization of parts room and storage areas
Conduct physical inventory counts.
Communicate with customer’s fleet management companies on approval for repairs and repair order status.
Ensure all shop supplies are adequately stocked.
Perform other duties as required.
Preferred Skills and Education: Experience with light duty/on-road equipment.
Prior Service Writing experience preferred.
Working knowledge of internal systems such as engines, hydraulics, HVAC, and electrical components.
Excellent computer literacy.
Strong organizational, multitask and time management skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with technicians, supervisors, and internal stakeholders.
Attention to detail in documentation and recordkeeping.
Able to work independently and in team environment.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification is an asset.
