Support recovery and stability for individuals in housing crisis as a Peer Supporter with Stonehenge Therapeutic Community. This full time afternoon role emphasizes peer support from a relatable perspective, creating positive change in the community.
Join a dedicated team focused on providing necessary emotional and practical support to tenants. With your lived experience and understanding of substance use recovery, you will play a crucial role in empowering individuals to enhance their quality of life. Collaboration with clinical staff and community organizations will be key in this impactful position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Engage in purposeful sharing of lived experiences
• Help tenants meet their wellness and life skills goals
• Partner in delivering crisis intervention when needed
• Facilitate meaningful community integration for tenants
• Administer required documentation on tenant progress
Requirements:
• Must have lived experience of substance use disorder
• At least one year of experience in relevant support roles
• Post-secondary education in social services or related
• Standard First Aid/CPR, Level C certification
• Knowledge of local services in Waterloo Wellington preferred
