Elevate student learning as a Speech Language Assistant in the District with School District No. 48 (Sea to Sky) from September 2026 to June 2027. This position requires direct interaction with students to support their speech and language development.
In this role, you will assist the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in planning and delivering programs tailored for students requiring speech support. You will be responsible for performing assessments, developing IEPs, and maintaining explicit communication with parents and staff. This position values strong organizational skills and the ability to foster positive relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
• Contribute to screening and assessments for students
• Support the creation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
• Implement expressive and receptive language programs
• Conduct direct treatment sessions in-class and in small groups
• Document student progress towards established objectives
Requirements:
• Completion of Grade 12 + relevant diploma or certificate
• One year experience in the field of speech language pathology
• Awareness of Truth and Reconciliation principles
• Excellent communication abilities
• Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's License
