Support the effective operation of the Legislature as the Alternate Chairperson, ensuring continuity during the Chairperson's absence. This contract role focuses on legislative meetings and adherence to procedures.
The Legislature invites applications for the Alternate Chairperson position until the next regular election in May 2027. This role requires familiarity with Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ law and parliamentary procedure. The Alternate Chairperson will oversee meetings, maintain order, and support the Legislature’s objectives, fostering teamwork and consensus.
Key Responsibilities:
• Preside over meetings and manage legislative affairs
• Ensure adherence to Legislature Rules and Procedures
• Explain rules of order during meetings when requested
• Issue notices and draft agendas for gatherings
• Maintain public records of the hitac̓u Assembly meetings
Requirements:
• Must not be a Legislature member
• Understand Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ law and parliamentary customs
• Be familiar with legislative processes and meeting facilitation
• Commit to mentoring and leadership development
• Propose an hourly rate for compensation consideration
Engage in a pivotal role that directly impacts the legislative process and community involvement.
