Responsibilities Coordinates planning and scheduling of routine and preventative maintenance functions by tradespersons.
Ensures completion of various maintenance reports for terminal facilities including: machinery status, condition/repair, damage/evaluation, accident; attendance; time sheets; job completion; and materials handling.
Ensures adherence to legislated and Company standards for safety, control and housekeeping.
Coordinates ordering of relevant materials and supplies to ensure timely completion of maintenance and repair projects.
Ensures work is carried out in accordance with established Company standards, policies, legislative requirements and collective agreement provision, through regular safety crew meetings, general discussion and individual communications.
Participates in the hiring and selection of current employees and administrates discipline as required.
Receives and handles employee grievances in accordance with established Company policies up to Step 1 with the assistance of the Maintenance Superintendent.
Evaluates technical data from trend analysis specialists. ie: infrared scanning, doble testing, transformer oil analysis and takes remedial action where necessary.
Acts as companys representative in dealing with the Electrical Inspector.
Ensures compliance of all the codes and regulations pertaining to the electrical supply and distribution system.
Undertakes other projects/functions as required.
Requirements Education: Grade 12, Red Seal TQ Electrician, Contractors certificate would be an asset.
Skills: Excellent interpersonal/communication skills.
Time management and organizational skills.
Background: Multiple Industry background preferably in a unionized setting, must have PLC experience preferably with Allen Bradley PLCs.
Experience: Five years trades experience preferably with supervisory experience.
