Join Small Axe Studios as a Lead Technical Animator and influence the future of sports gaming. This position in Burnaby allows you to bridge engineering and art through advanced animation techniques.

In this senior role, you will utilize your expertise in rigging and animation to develop high-quality character rigs that enhance gameplay and cinematic experiences. Collaborating with both art and engineering teams, you will help define binding and skinning processes for character assets. By leveraging your artistic insight, you'll contribute to building animation pipelines that are productive and effective.

Key Responsibilities:
• Optimize character body and facial rigs for diverse uses
• Define and implement character rigging pipelines




• Work closely with animators to refine rig usability
• Establish mocap processing pipelines for animations
• Ensure character assets run smoothly in Unreal Engine

Requirements:
• Over 6 years in technical animation or rigging
• Expertise in Maya and MotionBuilder essential
• Understanding of anatomy and animation principles
• Proven experience with Unreal Engine
• Python scripting abilities necessary
