Become a pivotal part of GFT's transportation team as a Senior Safety Engineer. Lead key safety activities and ensure regulatory compliance while fostering a hybrid work culture.
As a Senior Safety Engineer at GFT, you will independently oversee safety assurance for complex rail transit projects throughout Ontario, Alberta, or British Columbia. This role requires a deep understanding of safety engineering and RAM principles, managing teams to identify hazards while ensuring robust safety plans are executed. Utilize your extensive experience to mentor junior engineers and support business development efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Direct project safety programs and assurance activities
• Identify hazards and manage risk assessments
• Review Safety Cases and Assurance Reports
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
• Establish safety acceptance criteria and requirements
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or STEM field
• 15+ years in system safety engineering expertise
• Knowledgeable in IEC 61508 and/or EN 50126
• Proven experience in leading technical teams
• Exceptional client and stakeholder interaction skills
