Become a vital part of Coast Mental Health’s food services team as a casual Cook, contributing through meal planning and preparation. This role requires effective communication and collaboration with staff and volunteers to deliver quality nutrition.
As a Cook 2, you will work flexibly to prepare and serve meals while providing direction to Cook 1s and food service workers. Your duties include estimating food requirements, monitoring inventory levels, and managing kitchen cleanliness. Your culinary skills will ensure that nutritious meals meet clients' needs in a supportive setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and serve meals following established menus
• Manage food inventory and purchasing tasks
• Supervise Cook 1s and food service staff
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and equipment
• Document client dietary needs and preferences
Requirements:
• Grade 12 education or equivalent
• Cooking certificate or equivalent experience
• Foodsafe and WHMIS certifications
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License
• Ability to pass a Criminal Records Clearance
