About this Opportunity
Subject to intermittent layoffs May-Aug, holidays and reading breaks.

Requirements

Must be available for late eveningsand weekends.

Reliable transportation is essential due to limited public transit duringlate night hours.

Job Summary

sets up cash register with cash float and current date;

receives cash payment and makes change for food and drink purchases by customers;

itemizes cash received by denomination and amount at end of shift and places in safe or delivers to designated staff member, according to established procedures;

readies and refills drink machines and stocks serving cases with foods, beverages, condiments and other supplies as required;

cleans serving cases and counters; checks and validates meal passes by manual or automated methods and monitors trays for quantities in assigned dining areas;

keeps records as required.

Job Requirements
Qualifications

The successful candidate must have previous cashiering experience.

Ability to handle cash accurately, make change, and keep easy records and receipts;

Good communication skills and a commitment to working effectively within a team environment.

Knowledge of food safety standards, effective sanitation and housekeeping practices, and the operation of standard kitchen appliances and equipment.

Ability to learn routines related to assisting in food preparation and service.

Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, standing and walking for long periods of time.
