The Opportunity
We're looking for an Electrical Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our Substation Engineering team in Burnaby, BC.

In this role, you'll work alongside experienced engineers on the design and delivery of high-voltage electrical infrastructure projects across North America. You'll gain hands‑on experience in substation engineering, electrical studies, design development, and field support while building the technical foundation for your engineering career.

What You'll Do

Support the design and development of substation engineering packages, including physical layouts, sections, single-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and material take-offs

Perform engineering calculations and technical analysis under the guidance of senior engineers

Assist with electrical studies including grounding, relay coordination,



and other power system analyses using industry software

Prepare engineering reports, calculations, technical documentation, and project deliverables

Participate in site visits to support engineering, construction, and commissioning activities

Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver high-quality project solutions

Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering standards and design practices

Requirements
What We're Looking For
Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

Eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC)

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Self‑motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn

Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

Nice to Have

Previous experience in substation engineering or electrical utility projects

Familiarity with power system analysis or electrical design software

Previous engineering co‑op or internship experience

Salary
$60,000-$105,000
