Position Overview
Experience
Minimum three (3) years in Nephrology Nursing required.
Evidence of clinical expertise in Hemodialysis required.
Previous teaching experience an asset.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
Baccalaureate of Nursing preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Manitoba Nephrology Nursing course required (MNNC).
Successful completion of the Canadian Nurses Association Nephrology certification is preferred.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
Current C.R.N.M. registration required.
CNA Certification in Nephrology Nursing preferred.
Valid Manitoba driver's licensce required.
Incumbent must hold a valid Manitoba driver's license , provide own transportation and be free to travel throughout Manitoba.
Qualifications and Skills
Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated clinical expertise.
Ability to adapt readily to changing demands and situations.
Demonstrated effective teaching skills.
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently.
Physical Requirements
May be required to occasionally work extended hours including evenings and weekends.
Will be required to go into patient homes for teaching and assessments.
This maternity/parental term may expire sooner than the date indicated, subject to written notice of a minimum two (2) weeks, or one (1) pay period, whichever is longer.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
