North American Construction Group is hiring Skilled Ground Workers for their remote mining site team at Fort Hills near Fort McMurray, Alberta. These positions offer the chance to work on one of the region’s largest and safest contracts, with excellent compensation and benefits. Ideal candidates are experienced labourers with a robust safety focus and a willingness to work outdoors in a physically demanding environment.

What You’ll Need

Minimum 2 years experience in a labourer role

At least 1 year of previous mine experience

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and recent Driver’s Abstract

Physically fit; able to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors

High school diploma, GED, or post-secondary education (asset)

Proficient in English (verbal and written)

Valid CSO, Silica Awareness, Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness, Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness, OHS Alberta Legislation, Field Ergonomics

Ability to pass pre-employment testing: breath alcohol, urine drug, fitness-to-work, audiometric, and vision screening

Safety-first attitude and strong listening skills

What Will Make You Stand Out

Previous experience driving in the mine, shoveling, raking, grade/laser work, managing pumps and dewatering, installing piping and backfill
