Take on an essential role as a Temporary Building Operator in BCGEU’s Facilities Department. You will ensure effective maintenance and safety of multiple buildings while utilizing your hands-on expertise.
Reporting to the Director of Facilities, you'll work with other professionals to manage maintenance tasks for 13 buildings across British Columbia. This temporary position requires you to efficiently execute work orders through CMMS and react promptly to facility emergencies, contributing to a safe and operational environment for union members.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems
• Conduct daily inspections and record system performance
• Address emergency situations and coordinate responses
• Control inventory of maintenance supplies and tools
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards
Requirements:
• Minimum eight years' experience in facilities operations
• Valid Class 4 Power Engineer's Certificate or equivalent experience
• Direct experience managing asbestos-containing materials
• Competence with CMMS work order systems
• Ability to travel to various BCGEU locations
