In this auxiliary role within Parks, Recreation & Culture, you will ensure a protected and enjoyable leisure experience for the city’s residents. Your lifeguarding skills and ability to respond to emergencies will be crucial as you instruct various aquatic programs. Regular inspections of safety equipment and monitoring of pool chemistry are key aspects of your responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee safety protocols during aquatic activities
• Deliver instruction in swimming and safety training
• Inspect and maintain rescue and emergency equipment
• Monitor pool chemistry to ensure safety compliance
• Complete janitorial tasks as necessary
Requirements:
• Lifesaving Society Swim for Life Instructor certification
• Valid National Lifeguard certification (Pool Option)
• CPR Level C with AED certification
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Proficient understanding of aquatic safety regulations
