Join Winnipeg Regional Health Authority as a Rehabilitation Counsellor in Winnipeg and help facilitate recovery from addiction. This in-person role emphasizes a client-centered approach and strong interpersonal skills to support diverse populations.
As part of the Community Addictions Services team, you will report to the Program Supervisor. The position involves conducting assessments, supporting individuals and families, and providing education about addiction issues. Your training in motivational interviewing and experience with culturally diverse groups will be essential to your success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform assessments and develop tailored treatment strategies
• Offer individual and family counselling related to substance use
• Organize and lead community education sessions
• Engage in collaborative case management within a team setting
• Keep detailed documentation of counselling sessions and client progress
Requirements:
• Relevant Bachelor's degree or counseling diploma
• At least one year of supervised counselling experience
• Strong background in addiction and mental health services
• Proficiency in English; familiarity with Indigenous culture an advantage
• Effective communication and organizational capabilities
