Become a vital part of Seabird Island as a Healing Care Coordinator dedicated to community safety and justice. This role focuses on advocacy, culturally informed care, and client navigation through justice systems.
In this position, you'll collaborate with community members under the guidance of the Acting Department Manager of Community and Family Wellness. Your role involves coordinating care, providing case management, and connecting clients with essential social supports. You'll also integrate Indigenous teachings into comprehensive care plans, enhancing community well-being and the justice experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate advocacy for clients through legal and social services
• Attend court as a support person and advocate
• Monitor client progress in the justice system
• Facilitate dialogues to resolve conflicts within the community
• Integrate Indigenous culture and teachings into service plans
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or related field
• At least 2 years of experience in Indigenous community support
• Robust understanding of Indigenous cultures and traditions
• Excellent conflict resolution and communication skills
• Valid class 5 driver's license for transportation
Support the restoration journey of clients while fostering community healing and well-being.
