The Impact You Could Have
We’re seeking a dynamic Finance Assistant & HR Coordinator to work closely with our Director of Finance and the finance team to support the people and processes that keep Avalanche Canada running smoothly. This role blends daily financial transactions, payroll administration, and benefits coordination with a hand in shaping a positive, compliant workplace. The Role in Action
Payroll administration
Assist with budget tracking and variance reporting
Support the annual audit process by preparing requested documentation
Prepare and support month-end and year-end financial reporting
Coordinate onboarding and offboarding, including orientation, system access, and exit interviews
Administer employee contracts and maintain accurate employee records
Employee records management, including maintaining job descriptions
Manage the hiring process alongside hiring managers, from job postings through offer letters
Promote and support legal and regulatory HR compliance, non-discriminatory practices, and non-hazardous work conditions (workplace safety/training)
Manage the human resources budget
Facilitate the performance review process
Support the administration of employee surveys and other feedback mechanisms
Coordinate professional development opportunities and training
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
2+ years of previous experience in a finance, accounting, or HR-related field
Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Suite, accounting software (e.g., Xero or Quickbooks),
and HR software systems (e.g., Ceridian, PowerPay, DayForce)
The ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality
Familiarity with Bamboo HR is an asset

We anticipate offering in the range of $60,000 to $71,000 for this position.
