Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Technician with the Western Quebec School Board. Engage with students needing extra support under a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach.
In this role, you will work closely with a team to implement individualized education plans for students facing learning difficulties or requiring additional assistance. Your responsibilities include assessing educational objectives, creating action plans, and providing vital support in both academic and recreational activities. You will play a crucial role in fostering a safe learning setting through effective communication and behavior management strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Apply educational techniques for individualized education plans
• Develop and assess students’ learning objectives
• Conduct pedagogical and recreational activities for skill enhancement
• Provide support during crisis situations for students
• Maintain detailed records of interventions and student progress
Requirements:
• Diploma in Special Care Counselling or equivalent
• Minimum eight-hour first aid course
• Six-hour refresher course on first aid skills
• Commitment to Quebec's regulations on religious symbols
• Experience working in educational settings preferred
