Help CMHA Kelowna & District as a full-time term Outreach Worker aiding individuals living outdoors. This role focuses on building relationships and facilitating access to crucial community services.
You will promote outreach efforts to support individuals experiencing homelessness, focusing on their unique needs through case management and direct assistance. Working through the Community Roots Program, your role will engage clients Monday to Friday in fostering a supportive, understanding environment. Candidates should have a solid passion for community service and mental health.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct outreach to connect with unsheltered individuals
• Create care packages tailored to client needs
• Develop strategies for client engagement and trust
• Connect clients with medical and social services
• Document all client interactions and support provided
Requirements:
• Completion of Grade 12 required
• At least two years’ experience in similar roles
• Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license required
• Knowledge of harm reduction and trauma-informed care
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
