Empower exceptional learners as an Educational Assistant with the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. This term position involves supporting diverse student needs within a collaborative educational setting.
Reporting to the Principal, the Educational Assistant will provide individualized support to students with exceptional needs, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder and various disabilities. You'll engage in academic support, modify learning programs, and participate in essential yard duties. A flexible approach and commitment to student welfare are key in this dynamic setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist students with Autism and developmental disabilities
• Adapt educational programs and provide necessary modifications
• Engage in yard supervision and aid with toileting
• Work collaboratively with teachers and staff
• Utilize assistive technology effectively
Requirements:
• Community college diploma in relevant field
• 1-2 years of experience with special needs students
• Certification in First Aid/CPR Level C
• Training in Crisis Intervention or Behavior Management Systems
• Strong documentation skills for student progress
