Join Canucks Autism Network as a Skills Coach, fostering inclusion through sport for autistic individuals. This position emphasizes participant engagement and adaptive coaching practices.
As a Skills Coach, you are expected to lead the skill development of participants while collaborating with Support Workers and Volunteers. The role involves implementing tailored lesson plans and creating a supportive environment suitable for diverse abilities. Ongoing mentorship ensures you have the tools needed to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create adaptive lesson plans per program requirements
• Implement autism-informed coaching techniques
• Build a positive atmosphere for participant engagement
• Collaborate with team members and the Onsite Supervisor
• Manage session timing and necessary setups
Requirements:
• At least 1 year of relevant coaching experience
• Valid First Aid and CPR-C Certification required
• Must provide a explicit criminal record check
• Competency in skating for relevant programs
• Enthusiastic about working in inclusive settings
