Role: Residential Support Worker

Employment Types: Casual

In these roles, you’ll work with a live-in Senior Residential Carer and a supportive team to provide a safe, homelike environment where children and young people can develop independence, manage emotions, strengthen problem-solving skills, and reconnect with education and community.

Our residential homes care for children and young people 24/7, so applicants must be available and willing to work a variety of shifts, primarily consisting of afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Support young people to achieve goals in Individual Case Plans

Promote independence and build community connections

Encourage and support young people’s interests

Build rapport and collaborate to achieve positive outcomes

Manage behavioural escalations and assist with emotional regulation

Support daily living skills (cooking, housework, laundry)

Communicate with the care team and report incidents promptly

Administer medication when required

Maintain progress notes and records

Role Requirements

Certificate IV in Youth Work,



Mental Health, or a relevant qualification (or willingness to work towards one)

Experience with young people who have experienced trauma, neglect, or behaviours of concern

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain professional boundaries

Experience supporting young people from Indigenous or other cultural backgrounds

Current Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certificates

Desirable: Experience with behavioural management approaches, including TCI, positive behaviour support, trauma-informed care and Sanctuary or CARE therapeutic support models

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, WA Working with Children Check and WA DCP395 check.
