Become an essential part of the educational team as an Education Assistant 3, dedicated to supporting students with exceptional needs. This role is crucial for enhancing student participation in both classroom and community activities.
In the Education Assistant 3 position, you will assist teachers in implementing education plans and performing specific care and communication duties for physically dependent students. Your role includes administering medications, observing student progress, and maintaining records. You will also facilitate activities that promote student independence and involve parents in the educational process.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct specialized medical procedures and personal care
• Help students with profound communication challenges
• Assist in community access and life skill development
• Organize and support school activities and events
• Monitor behavior and report concerns appropriately
Requirements:
• Completion of Grade 12 is essential
• Requires up to two years of specialized training
• Two years of experience working with exceptional needs children
• Must communicate effectively in instructional language
• Ability to maintain confidentiality while collaborating with teams
