Be a vital part of Pemberton Secondary School's teaching team in the role of Active Living and Physical Health Education Teacher. This position seeks to inspire students through active learning from Grades 8 to 12.
At SD48, diversity is celebrated, and they're looking for teachers to create powerful learning experiences. Candidates should possess a valid B.C. Teaching Certificate along with instructional skills that integrate technology and curriculum design, incorporating Indigenous methodologies. The successful applicant will engage students in meaningful dialogue about their career paths while enhancing learning through co-teaching experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate engaging Active Living classes for various grades
• Collaborate with fellow teachers for curriculum planning
• Coach students on personal strengths and career readiness
• Use technology to communicate and monitor student progress
• Promote a secure and inclusive classroom culture
Requirements:
• B.C. Teaching Certificate and relevant university training
• Proven teaching experience in health education
• Understanding of BC Student Performance Standards
• Skilled in teaching multi-age groupings
• Ability to conduct a Behavioral interview assessment
