On behalf of our Public Sector Client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for a Senior/Lead Software Developer to join our Client's team on a Contract basis. This role is Hybrid and the Client is based in Richmond, BC.

Summary of the Role

The Senior Software Developer will lead the technical execution of application development and modernization initiatives within a cross-functional delivery team. This hands-on role is responsible for designing, building, testing, and deploying production-grade applications on Azure using modern Microsoft technologies. The successful candidate will contribute to technical design, development standards, engineering practices, and continuous improvement of the software development lifecycle.

Duties & Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end technical delivery from requirements intake through production deployment.

Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and deploy scalable, secure, and maintainable applications on Azure.

Develop solutions using C#/.NET, Web APIs, Angular, TypeScript, RxJS, and Azure services.

Design and implement REST APIs and system integrations.

Apply application architecture, design patterns, database, testing, and troubleshooting practices.

Implement DevOps practices, including Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and production support.

Make technical decisions and contribute to development standards and engineering practices.

Mentor and guide developers while supporting technical delivery.

Identify opportunities to improve existing approaches, engineering practices, and the software development lifecycle.





Work across business, product, architecture, QA, and technology teams to resolve complex issues and support delivery.

Core Requirements

Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related STEM discipline.

6+ years of professional software development experience, including unit testing, production support, and problem resolution using Microsoft Azure technologies in an Agile environment.

3+ years in a Software Development Lead, Technical Lead, Senior Developer, Architect, or equivalent role.

Strong hands-on experience with C#/.NET, Web APIs, Angular, TypeScript, RxJS, Azure, REST APIs, system integrations, and Azure DevOps/CI/CD.

Experience delivering enterprise-grade applications across the full software development lifecycle, including architecture, design, testing, troubleshooting, and production support.

Desired Skills & Experience

Experience with .NET 8+.

Strong experience with Azure Functions, Service Bus, Storage, Application Insights, and Key Vault.

Experience with generative AI, AI-assisted development tools, or AI-native software development practices.

Experience with automated testing, Git, and continuous integration and deployment.





Experience mentoring and guiding developers and supporting technical decision-making, planning, estimation, risk management, and delivery coordination.

Terms

This is a 12-month contract opportunity with possible extensions. The role is hybrid, with 3 days per week onsite in Richmond, BC. A background check and references are required at the offer stage. Perks and other non-salary compensation are not applicable to this contract role.
