Working primarily in Brampton, you will assist clients charged with criminal offenses through comprehensive legal counsel. Your responsibilities will include courtroom appearances for bail, guilty pleas, and providing essential legal advice. The role requires flexibility to appear in various jurisdictions as needed, ensuring that justice is accessible for all.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with criminal charges at the Brampton courthouse
- Represent clients during bail hearings and remands
- Provide procedural advice and court document preparation
- Identify client needs for supportive service referrals
- Ensure effective case management and legal representation quality
Requirements:
- Must hold valid lawyer status with the Law Society of Ontario
- Extensive experience in criminal law and client representation
- Knowledge of the Criminal Code and youth justice regulations
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Competence in case management systems and technology
