We are looking for a skilled Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic to support the maintenance and reliability of our truck and trailer fleet. In this role, you will perform inspections, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs to ensure equipment remains safe, dependable, and ready for operation. The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting abilities, solid experience with heavy-duty equipment, and a commitment to safe, quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform routine servicing, inspections, and mechanical repairs on trucks and trailers.
- Identify and resolve issues involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and brake systems.
- Complete scheduled and preventative maintenance to improve equipment reliability and help prevent unexpected breakdowns.
- Inspect components for wear or damage and complete necessary repairs or replacements.
- Operate diagnostic tools, software, and testing equipment to determine the cause of equipment concerns.
- Check completed work to confirm repairs have been successful and equipment is safe to return to service.
- Accurately record maintenance activities, repairs completed, inspections, and parts used.
- Troubleshoot equipment concerns and assist in resolving more difficult or recurring mechanical problems.
- Ensure repairs and maintenance are performed in accordance with manufacturer recommendations, company procedures, and safety requirements.
- Maintain tools, equipment,



and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
- Coordinate with the shop team to manage repair priorities and support efficient fleet operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Valid Journeyman and/or Red Seal certification as a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician, Truck & Transport Mechanic, or equivalent recognized trade.
- Previous hands-on experience servicing and repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
- Sound understanding of heavy-duty mechanical, braking, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify faults and determine appropriate repair solutions.
- Experience working with diagnostic programs, testing equipment, and common heavy-duty shop tools.
- Ability to complete assigned work independently while also contributing effectively within a team workplace.
- Reliable and organized with a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and quality.
- Ability to prioritize repairs and complete work efficiently in a busy shop environment.
- Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and be able to participate in random and post-incident testing as required.

Pay: $40.00-$52.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
