Grimsby

Help students learn, grow, and build confidence — one-on-one.

At TeachItRight, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn in a way that works for them.

We connect exceptional education professionals with students who benefit from individualized support, while creating opportunities where our team can focus on what matters most: building relationships, celebrating progress, and helping children discover what they're capable of.

Our Current Opportunity

We are looking for an Educational Assistant (EA) to provide consistent, in-home support for a Grade 2 student on the autism spectrum as part of his homeschool program.

He is able to communicate his basic needs using short phrases, follows simple instructions well, and is cooperative and comfortable with familiar routines. He is ready to continue building his skills with the right support. His parents are very involved in his learning and are looking for someone who will take the time to get to know him, build a strong relationship, and become a consistent part of his homeschool week.

You will work one-on-one with him for approximately two hours per day, four days per week. A key focus will be supporting his literacy development, alongside other foundational learning skills based on his individual needs. This may include early numeracy, communication, fine-motor and writing skills, participation in learning activities, and building greater confidence and independence.

What we're looking for

Someone who:

- Has experience working as an Educational Assistant supporting school-aged students with special education needs, or comparable experience providing individualized academic and developmental support to school-aged students with diverse learning needs.

- Has experience supporting students on the autism spectrum.
- Is patient, dependable, encouraging, and comfortable providing one-on-one support.
- Understands that every child learns differently and can adapt activities to meet individual needs.
- Values building robust relationships and collaborating closely with families.

What it's like to work with TeachItRight

We believe the best outcomes happen when you are not doing it alone. You will have the autonomy to build a meaningful relationship with your student and use your experience and creativity to support his learning. You will also have an involved family and a TeachItRight leadership team that checks in, listens, and is there to problem-solve alongside you when needed.

Position Details

Location: L3M 5M6

If you are looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while being trusted, valued, and supported in your role, we would love to learn more about you.
