The Opportunity
An established manufacturing company in the Central Okanagan is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Operations Manager to provide hands-on leadership to its manufacturing operations.
This position is well suited to someone who enjoys being on the production floor, leading people, solving problems and seeing measurable results from their work.
The Manufacturing Operations Manager will oversee daily production execution, labour and capacity requirements, workflow and team performance. A key focus of the role will be ensuring work progresses safely, efficiently, to quality requirements and according to schedule.
This individual will work across the organization to resolve production constraints, improve processes and build a strong culture of accountability and teamwork.

Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to the manufacturing team.
- Communicate production priorities, expectations and daily objectives.
- Coordinate manufacturing activities to meet planned requirements and deadlines.
- Allocate labour and resources based on workload and priorities.
- Maintain an active presence on the production floor and address issues affecting execution.
- Monitor production progress and respond quickly when work falls behind plan.
- Identify bottlenecks and opportunities to improve workflow and productivity.
- Coach and develop employees while maintaining clear performance expectations and accountability.
- Work cross-functionally to resolve material, technical, quality and production issues.
- Support improvements to manufacturing processes, safety, quality and productivity.
- Ensure production information is accurately maintained within ERP and manufacturing systems.
- Promote a safe, organized and productive work environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 2+ years of experience leading a production or manufacturing team.
- Experience in a metal-related manufacturing setting (e.g., welding, fabrication, machining or similar) is strongly preferred.
- Solid hands-on leadership and people-management capabilities.
- Experience managing production priorities, labour requirements and deadlines.
- The ability to identify problems, make decisions and follow issues through to resolution.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP or other manufacturing systems.
- Strong communication, organization and collaboration skills.
A degree, diploma or skilled trade background related to manufacturing, engineering or operations is an asset. Equivalent manufacturing and leadership experience will also be considered.

We're looking for a leader who is comfortable spending time on the production floor and understands that strong manufacturing performance comes from a combination of clear expectations, good planning, effective communication and follow-through.
You should be comfortable making decisions, addressing performance issues, adapting to changing priorities and working with different areas of the business to keep production moving.
Most importantly, you should enjoy leading people and creating an environment where employees understand what needs to be accomplished and take ownership of getting it done.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $95,000–$120,000 annually, depending on experience.
This position provides the opportunity to take a key leadership role within an established manufacturing operation and directly influence team performance, manufacturing processes and operational improvement.
