Position Summary:

Devon Transport Ltd, a locally owned and operated franchise of Budget Car & Truck Rental serves both retail and corporate customers with a wide range of vehicles. We pride ourselves in keeping our fleet clean, safe and well maintained for our customers. We are currently seeking a Car Carrier Driver with duties as a shop support person to join our team. This role combines basic shop support with the responsibility of transporting vehicles between our locations in BC.

Position Responsibilities:

- Load and secure vehicles using chains and hydraulic for safe transport
- Pick up and drop off vehicles between rental locations
- Ensure safe driving practices and security of assets in all weather conditions
- Must retain class 1 license for the duration of the position
- Drive and operate a car carrier safely and within areas directed
- Operate rental vehicles up to an including 5-ton box trucks and flat decks
- Move and park vehicles within the lot and service area
- Assist shop staff with basic maintenance
- Move tires in and out of storage
- Ensure secure work practices and compliance with company and WSBC standards
- Stop at weigh scales as required
- Follow long haul and short haul directives including trip logs and compliance
- Advise on permits for over height and all motor transport regulations

Experience

- Minimum 2 years of car carrier experience
- Experience with long and short haul trips
- Mechanical experience is asset

Qualifications:





- Valid Class 1 drivers license with air endorsement
- Successful completion of MELT
- Previous automotive, tire or mechanic experience an asset
- Any additional safety certifications are considered an asset

Pay: $32.00-$35.00 per hour

Experience:

- Car Hauling: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Class 1 Licence (required)
