The company

IFD Technologies is a growing tech company located in Vancouver, BC. We are a tight-knit team focused on developing innovative products design to help electric utilities manage their distribution networks. For over 25 years our company has grown by continuing to develop our flagship product, the IFD Sensor. Recently we have added a second mechanical sensor called TempPatrol. We are also in the process of developing a series of current digital products. All our products are produced and distributed at our manufacturing facility in Port Kells which we opened in 2024.

Your role

As an Assembly Operator, you will play a key role in manufacturing at our Port Kells facility. Your focus will be on assembling and testing various molded, machined and electronic components. This role also has the chance to be involved in a variety of other manufacturing areas including material handling, safety and continuous improvement initiatives, quality assurance and more! Your creativity, initiative, and energy will drive your opportunity.

How you will spend your days

- Assembling and testing mechanical and digital products
- Performing quality checks including visual inspections and measurements
- Cleaning and performing light maintenance on assembly equipment
- Completing routine safety inspections




- Supporting other manufacturing operations areas including assembly, shipping, receiving and QC
- Participating in lean principles and continuous improvement projects as required
- Communicating and collaborating with various business areas to meet our customer (internal and external) needs

The must-haves

- Reliable, dependable, and consistently punctual.
- Able to manually assemble components to meet our production and quality objectives.
- Strong attention to detail, familiar with in-process visual inspections and quality checks.
- Committed to promoting a safe work environment and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Physical ability to lift and move boxes (35 lbs) as required
- Minimum 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient English communication skills (verbal and written)

The nice to haves

- Experience working on a single piece flow assembly line
- Comfortable using Microsoft tools (e.g. Excel, Word, Teams) and ERP systems
- Familiar with lean principles and WorkSafe BC standards

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
