Experienced Pharmacy Assistant
An independent community pharmacy serving the Orleans community, is looking for an experienced Pharmacy Assistant to join our team.
We are seeking a reliable, organized, and patient-focused pharmacy qualified with strong hands-on experience using TELUS Kroll and a solid understanding of day-to-day community pharmacy operations.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a busy pharmacy environment, managing multiple priorities, supporting pharmacists and patients, and maintaining a high standard of accuracy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
- Process prescriptions accurately and efficiently using TELUS Kroll
- Enter new prescriptions, refills, transfers, and prescription changes
- Prepare prescriptions for pharmacist verification
- Assist with prescription workflow from intake through completion
- Process third-party insurance claims and troubleshoot adjudication issues
- Assist patients with prescription pickups, questions, and general pharmacy inquiries
- Communicate professionally with patients, physicians' offices, healthcare providers, and insurance companies
- Answer telephone calls and direct inquiries appropriately
- Assist pharmacists with day-to-day pharmacy operations
- Maintain accurate patient profiles and pharmacy records
- Assist with inventory management, ordering, receiving, stocking, and expiry-date checks
- Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient dispensary
- Assist with blister packaging, compliance packaging, or other pharmacy services as required
- Assist with pharmacy billing and administrative duties
- Follow established procedures relating to patient privacy, confidentiality, medication safety, and quality assurance
- Identify and communicate prescription or workflow issues to the pharmacist
- Provide excellent customer service and contribute to a positive patient experience
- Perform other pharmacy-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications & Experience
The following are important requirements for this position:
- Previous community pharmacy experience
- Strong practical experience with TELUS Kroll pharmacy software
- Demonstrated knowledge of prescription processing and pharmacy workflow
- Experience with third-party insurance adjudication
- Strong computer and data-entry skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Professional, courteous, and patient-focused approach
- Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of a pharmacy team
- Solid understanding of patient confidentiality and privacy
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
Bilingual English/French is an asset.
