Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all tools and materials are prepared efficiently. Manage patient flow by taking vital signs, medical history updates, and explaining treatment plans clearly to ensure comfort and understanding. Operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners while maintaining strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Maintain accurate medical documentation and records using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support dental reception duties by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information. Implement infection control procedures diligently to prevent cross-contamination,
including sterilization of instruments and proper disposal of biohazard materials. Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures while maintaining a sterile environment.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy. Familiarity with Dentrix. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners confidently. Excellent communication skills for explaining procedures to patients and collaborating effectively with team members. Knowledge of medical terminology and medical documentation standards related to dental care.
